Welcome to the “sweet spot” for the Solar Eclipse, August 21, 2017 ; The Lake Barkley Area. This total eclipse will be darkest for the longest amount of time here in Lyon County, Kentucky. There are many things visitors can do while visiting. Not just on Lake Barkley, but in the surrounding area, too! Restaurants, Historical places, which both Eddyville and Kuttawa have a fascinating history involving how Lake Barkley came to be. You also have Land Between the Lakes with the Old Homestead, Nature Station, fishing, Elk and Bison Prairie and so much more. Eddyville has the Venture River Water Park, Rose Hill Museum (in old Eddyville), restaurants, small town shopping as well as Kuttawa and the Kuttawa Marina. Camping off Interstate 24 @ Exit 40, Kuttawa, KY
2. Camping off Interstate 24 @ Exit 40 Kuttawa, KY will be opening up property August 18-22nd for camping and viewing for guests coming in for this once in a lifetime event. Exit 40 Eclipse Campground is conveniently located off exit 40 directly off Interstate I24 and I69. There are three restaurants on the other side of the interstate and just over a mile fro Lake Barkley. It is also centrally located to all the areas going on in Eddyville and Kuttawa, including fuel. Campsite Information: Campsite spaces are 15’x20′ and are $30.00 per night. Campsites are limited to one typical size vehicle and additional vehicles are $15/day.
RV and Truck with Trailer Sites are available without power for $60.00 per night.
Eclipse Viewing ONLY: Viewing prices will be $30.00 per vehicle if spaces are still available on the day of the event, August 21st.
